Seva Bhaav is designed with a sole interest - to help the community. Community service has always been the hallmark of MGIMS. Dr Sushila Nayar, the founder of the institute sowed the seeds of community healthcare and since then the institute has been nurturing her vision of rendering service for rural communities of India. With this aim, the institute has taken a new step to reach out for the people by using a radio-a universal mode of communication.

Broadcasting the talks of MGIMS faculty, Seva Bhaav will offer listeners an opportunity to engage with doctors from different specialties who can create health awareness in the community, separate myths from truth and help people understand what it takes to stay healthy. Also, doctors from MGIMS shall talk on a variety of diseases and will help people know how low-cost high quality medical care can be accessed for these disorders.

On Thursday 23rd April, at 9:00 am, Seva Bhaav will premiere a talk with Dr Ulhas Jajoo, Professor and Head of the department of Medicine at MGIMS,on Radio 90.4 FM. Dr Jajoo will share his views on community-based health insurance schemes and how it helped close to 67000 families (264000 members) living in  villages and towns around Sevagram access high-quality, low-cost healthcare.

"We are very excited to bring classrooms to the community," said Dr BS Garg, Secretary Kasturba Health Society. "Sharing the knowledge and experiences of our expert faculty through this collaboration with Radio 90.4 FM enriches our traditional model of teaching,” said Dr KR Patond, Dean MGIMS. “Our talented pool of doctors would surely infuse their talk with wisdom to help the community”, said Dr SP Kalantri, Medical Superintendent, Kasturba Hospital, Sevagram.
